WHAT IS TADALAFIL?

Tadalafil is the generic version of the brand name Cialis® (made by Eli Lilly). Tadalafil helps men with ED get and maintain erections. Tadalafil stays in your system for longer than any other ED medication.

Like Cialis® or Viagra®, Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow to specific parts of the body, like the penis. Tadalafil is unique in that it can be used as-needed or once daily to be ready for sexual activity.

TADADAFIL DOSAGES

Tadalafil As-needed

Take Tadalafil (5mg, 10mg, or 20mg) as-needed before you have sex. Tadalafil can last up to 36 hours in your system, which is why it’s called “The Weekender”. Available in a higher dose than Tadalafil Daily, it’s best not to take Tadalafil As-needed on consecutive days.

Tadalafil Daily

Tadalafil daily is taken once per day, as it comes in a low dose (2.5mg). The lower dosage builds up in your system over time, so you can be ready to perform at any time, instead of waiting for a pill to kick in.

TADALAFIL vs  SILDENAFIL

Tadalafil (Generic Cialis®) is similarly effective as Sildenafil in the treatment of ED. In comparison studies, Tadalafil is preferred to Sildenafil (50/100mg) by men with ED, possibly because of its the longest lasting PDE5 drug for ED, which typically lasts up to 36 hours.

Sildenafil (Generic Viagra®) is by far the cheapest drug for ED and the one with the longest safety record. It is good for the occasional user.  Sildenafil is taken when needed, such as before sexual activity. The effects of Sildenafil lasts up to 8 hours. See more...

FAQs about Tadalafil

What is Tadalafil used to treat?

Tadalafil is approved for the treatment of men who experience difficulty having and maintaining an erection (impotence). Tadalafil is a generic prescription drug that is used to treat several conditions, namely erectile dysfunction (impotence), as well as enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH) and high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). Tadalafil (like its brand-name counterparts, Cialis® and Adcirca®) belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medicines prevent the enzyme PDE5 from working too quickly. The penis is one of the body parts where this enzyme works.

How does Tadalafil work?

Tadalafil works by enhancing the effects of one of the chemicals the body normally releases into the penis during sexual arousal. This allows an increase of blood flow into the penis. An erection is the result of an increase in blood flow into certain internal areas of the penis.

Avoid foreign online pharmacies, to ensure your medications are safe and you don't get scammed.

How long does Tadalafil take to work?

When taken as needed for ED, Tadalafil (or brand name version of Cialis®) can start working within 30-45 minutes. For most men, it reaches peak effect in 2 hours after it’s taken. Like most ED drugs Tadalafil is taken as needed for ED, before you plan to be sexually active.

However, Tadalafil can also be taken at a lower prescribed dose daily, 2.5 mg. When taken daily, over time you may find an increased ability to achieve an erection anytime you experience sexual stimulation. You may be able to have successful intercourse in as early as 4 to 5 days, after beginning a daily regimen of Tadalafil.

How long do the effects of Tadalafil last?

One dose of Tadalafil, which is taken as needed for sexual activity, can remain effective for up to 36 hours. The peak concentration of Tadalafil in the bloodstream usually occurs between 30 minutes and 6 hours, with a median time of 2 hours to reach peak effectiveness. Since Tadalafil’s effectiveness lasts for a long time, it can be taken well in advance to allow for more spontaneous sexual activity over the course of a day or night (or weekend).

How do I take Tadalafil?

Tadalafil is taken orally before sexual activity, not more than once daily, unless it's a daily dose (2.5 mg). Tadalafil may be taken with or without food. In some patients, the dose strength and maximum frequency of use may be adjusted. For more detailed information consult with your health care provider.

What can help with premature ejaculation without medication?

Premature ejaculation (P.E.) has many possible causes, like performance anxiety, heightened sensitivity, and increased stress levels. The lack of blood flow to the penis does not cause you to orgasm too quickly, so Sildenafil (Generic Viagra) isn't an effective treatment for premature ejaculation.
